Apprenticeship

The BAC Local #3 has been vital to the development and growth of the masonry and allied trades success. Through our apprenticeship program in Rochester, Buffalo, and Ithaca, we aim to continue this success by offering masonry apprenticeships (brick, block, concrete, plastering and restoration) and tile apprenticeships, as well as support personnel. The goal of the apprentice program is to provide the highest level of training to apprentices, so they may assume positions as fully-qualified journeymen, ready to meet the professional challenges within the industry.

The Bricklayers/Tile setter is a four-year program. The program includes both on-the-job training and continuing education.

The Bricklayers Local #3 Joint Apprenticeship Committee(JAC) of all Chapters is made up of both Labor and Management Trustees. We take pride in the way our schools are managed between the two. We at Local #3 JAC represent Brick, Block & Stone Layers; Plasterers; Pointers/Caulkers/Cleaners; Cement Masons; Tile and Terrazzo Workers. We also represent the support people in the Tile industry.

The Local #3 JAC Rochester Chapter accepts applications on the first Thursday of every month from 8:00am until 12:00pm.
